Anyone here agree Patton was an idiot for underestimating static defenses and relying completely on mobility?

I agree and disagree, i feel Patton was overrated and only won the victories which he did due to an early offensive and taking the initiative whilst the Germans were retreating. Yet Rommel was also an example of the successes that Patton had, using tanks and armour to overwhelm static defenses in North Africa.
