Why did the Romans felt need to siege Jerusalem in 70 CE?

Jesus lived and died during the time of Augustus Caesar. He established the New Jerusalem in Heaven where His 7 churches were build upon destruction of the temple on Earth as His body. All events after the death of Jesus in 03 AD have no more relations with His mission on Earth because all His moved after His resurrection were spiritual, that is, could not be seen by naked eye of man.
